Read on a Qualis
A morose looking driver of a Qualis, driving very slowly. Written boldly on the back of his cab

Heard in Press Club
A senior journalist sitting alone in PC, nursing his drink. He gets up suddenly, nervously clutching his phone and talking loudly:
Journo: Yes sir. Good evening sir. Myself....
He quickly sits down and looks to see if anyone noticed.
The call was a pre-recorded message from then PM Vajpayee canvassing for his party.

Heard during a protest rally
A biker gives a youngster a lift.
Boy: You are working? (sic)
Biker: Yes
Boy: You are graduate?
Biker: Yes
After 5 seconds, the biker is seen irritated and his voice is high-pitched.
Biker: I'm not going anywhere. Get down.
Boy: Oh ho!
The biker zooms off.

Confession time
This blog is a shameless copy of the oh-so-popular overheardinnewyork. Heck, even the title is pretty similar: heard-in-delhi. Absolutely shameless, I say. This will make Bappi Da and Anu Malik look like Mahatma Gandhis.
But why not? Delhi is more vibrant, colourful, thankless, unforgiving, used and abused than New York ever will be. And the people here -- from Punjus to Mallus, Bongs to Gujjus say the darndest things. So why not? At least you'll have something to do in office.
So let's have some fun. Keep posting your one-liners.
And hey, if you want to read the original one, here's the link:
